TRANSITIONAL & RESIDENTIAL HOMES
We
have been busy over the last few months opening transitional
homes for women & children, men & children,
single women and men. We currently have over thirty
houses and are providing service to over 100 individuals
and families. Our goal is to assist people before they
join the growing pool of homeless in Atlanta.
Of
course, this is a huge undertaking and we need as much
help and resources as we can receive. CSA Transitional
& Residential Homes currently need the following:
MENTORS:
Every adult and child who stays in one of our houses
is afforded a Mentor. Mentors are responsible for holding
participants to their goals, exposing them to informative
information, motivating and inspiring them.
This
is a 6-month commitment, where Mentors will be expected
to communicate with their assigned partner on a weekly
basis and visit him or her in person at least twice
a month.
PROGRAMS:
We are also seeking programs that can assist our tenants
in moving beyond their current situation. If you have
a program that is designed to assist people in gaining
self-sufficiency, please let us know.
Signing
Up: If you would like to be a Mentor, please
send an email stating your desire to Deena Jones at
djones@selfactualized.org
FURNITURE:
We are also in need of furniture, especially full beds.
If you would like to donate furniture, please send an
email to djones@selfactualized.org
HOME
SUPPLIES: We are in need of basic supplies
for the homes. We currently need vacuum cleaners, pots
and pans, kitchen utensils, bedroom and bathroom trashcans,
lamps, pictures and other items. If you would like to
donate home supplies please send an email to djones@selfactualized.org
FINANCIAL
DONATION: Certainly, like all community service
ventures, we are in need of financial donations. If
you would like to make a cash donation or pay a utility
bill please email djones@selfactualized.org
or mail a check to CSA, P.O. Box 98466, Atlanta, GA
30359.
BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT
We
are fortunate to report that we are still assisting
individuals in starting their business. Recently we
have written the business plan that successfully financed
a Quiznos franchise in Indiana and
a Cold Stone Creamy here in Atlanta.
We have also assisted a host of others with their nonprofit
501c3, Incorporation and other start-up due diligence.
If you are seeking to start your own business, please
feel free to contact us.
