CSA
TRANSITIONAL & RESIDENTIAL HOMES
We
are pleased to announce that we are well on our way
to providing transitional homes to women & children,
men & children, single women and men. We currently
have four houses and will be adding to our inventory
on a monthly basis. Our goal is to assist people before
they join the growing pool of homeless in Atlanta. We
will further supply student housing in the fall.
Of
course, this is a huge undertaking and we need as much
help and resources as we can receive. CSA Transitional
& Residential Homes currently need the following:
MENTORS:
Every adult and child who stays in one of our houses
will be afforded a Mentor. Mentors will be responsible
for holding participants to their goals, exposing them
to informative information and motivating and inspiring
them.
Time:
This is a 6-month commitment, where Mentors will be
expected to communicate with their assigned partner
on a weekly basis and visit him or her in person at
least twice a month.
Training:
Mentors’ training will be ongoing; we will meet
once a month to discuss the progress of each participant.
The first meeting for Mentors is July 16, 2005 from
10 am until 12 am.
Signing
Up: If you would like to be a Mentor, please
send an email stating your desire to djones@selfactualized.org.
FURNITURE:
We are also in need of furniture, especially twin or
bunk beds. If you would like to donate furniture, please
send an email to djones@selfactualized.org.
HOME
SUPPLIES: We are in need of basic supplies
for the homes. We currently need vacuum cleaners, pots
and pans, kitchen utensils, bedroom and bathroom trashcans,
lamps, pictures and other items. If you would like to
donate home supplies please send an email to djones@selfactualized.org.
FINANCIAL
DONATION: Certainly, like all community service
ventures, we are in need of financial donations. If
you would like to make a cash donation or pay a utility
bill please email djones@selfactualized.org.
or mail a check to CSA, P.O. Box 98466, Atlanta, GA
30345.
